Thomas Edward Kampschroer, a cherished and faithful husband, devoted father, and loving grandfather, was called home on July 24, 2025. Born on July 25, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tom lived a life rich with love, faith, and family.
Tom’s passion for landscaping, trailblazing, playing pool, and golf brought him joy, especially when shared with family. His mother, Joyce (Remmel), instilled in him a deep love of nature, while his father, Henry, modeled a strong work ethic and unwavering faith through his commitment to attending Holy Mass. Both parents preceded him in death.
Tom was one of four siblings. He was predeceased by his brother James and sister Susie (Lecher). His brother Joseph (Lori) survives.
On August 24, 1968, Tom married Rose (Trzebiatowski) at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt, Wisconsin. She survives. His dedication to his wife and family was unparalleled, and his faith was the cornerstone of his life. Missing Sunday Mass, even on vacation, was unthinkable for Tom, who lived a life rooted in prayer and devotion.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Tom began his career at Wausau Insurance in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he served as a Corporate Senior Underwriter for 37 years. His clients and colleagues admired his expertise and straightforward approach to insurance.
Tom and Rose built a beautiful home for their family of three children: daughter Jennifer (Scott) Insteness and sons Dan (Monica) Kampschroer and Michael Kampschroer, all of whom survive. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Ava and Julia Insteness; Lin, Emma, Joseph, Maria, Ana, Thomas, and Elena Kampschroer. His humor and lively commentaries during Brewers and Bucks games were cherished by his children and grandchildren. Family traditions were magical, from deer tracks on the roof at Christmas to elaborate Easter treasure hunts and a towering 20-foot Christmas tree. Tom always kept a stock of Lucky Charms and ice cream for the kids—their favorites—and celebrated every accomplishment, no matter how small, with immense pride.
In addition to his immediate family, Tom is survived by his brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He showed his love by attending birthdays, First Communions, weddings, and sporting events, always present for life’s milestones.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care during Tom’s final days. They also thank family and friends for their prayers and support. Your love means the world to us.
