Thomas Richard Deinhammer passed away at home on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Tom was born on April 29, 1943, to Agatha (Crowe) and Ernest Deinhammer in the town of Allen. He grew up on the family farm in rural Osseo, where he learned a strong work ethic that he retained for the rest of his life. After graduating from Osseo-Fairchild High School, Tom worked at Uniroyal for nearly 25 years until the plant closed. While working at the tire plant, he proudly served as a union rep. In ensuing years, Tom was a bus driver for the city of Eau Claire and was also employed with the Eau Claire school district as a groundskeeper.
He enjoyed many summers with his wife, Jane, at their trailer at Lake of the Pines. Tom enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, making fishing lures, and gifting his famous version of Chex mix to family members at Christmastime.
Tom is survived by Jane, his wife of 34 years; his daughters Shelly (David) Peterson, and Jodi (Julian) Emerson; stepson Jeff (Kris) Sundlin, and stepdaughter Julie (Donnie) Miller; eight grandchildren: Hannah (Nathan) Maskevich, Hayley (Jimmy) Haggerty, Emily (Matt) Kaiser, Gretta (Jens) Staff, Justin and Jacob (Olivia) Sundlin, Sarah and Alex Carrier; and seven great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Judy (Mike) Berg; numerous sisters and brothers in law; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; infant brother David; brother Steve and his wife, Teresa; and in-laws Harry and Marian Feck.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave., Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Inurnment will occur at a later date.
