Sharron Collette Rasmussen, 76, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away on January 31, 2024 after a battle with colon cancer.
Sharron was born on April 10, 1947 to Owen and Ardell Bergh in Eau Claire. She attended Memorial High School. She met her husband-to-be at a football game when she asked him to sit on her feet to keep them warm.
Sharron and Larry were married on June 3rd of 1967 and had two children (Stephanie and Kristy). Sharron was a wonderful mother who looked after and guarded her children, who encouraged independence, self-sufficiency, and a love of the outdoors.
She planned two different, month long, trips to the western U.S. This allowed her family to experience quality family time while seeing the U.S.
She was a wonderful wildlife artist, using acrylic paints to capture flowers and birds in her work. She would attend art shows throughout the state and belonged to the Eau Claire Art League, serving as their treasurer for many years.
Sharron also used her creative and artistic side in her beautiful backyard gardens that were immensely enjoyed by family and friends as she loved to spend hours cultivating and tending the flower beds.
Outside of the home, Sharron worked at Royal Credit Union for 23 years. She started out in the mailroom and worked her way up to the purchasing agent position that she held for the last 11 years.
Though she loved her art, gardens, and work, Sharron’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids.
Sharron is preceded in death by her husband (Larry), daughter (Kristy), and brother-in-law (Dan Miller). She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Dewitz (David), Grandchildren Chandra Bartnik (Jared) and Kyle Dewitz, sisters Jane Morris (Marty) and Debbie Miller, and brother-in-laws Dennis Rasmussen (Darlene) and David Rasmussen (Dianne).
