Sandra “Sandy" Vining, age 80, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Altoona with her children by her side.
Sandy was born July 6, 1943, to Lisle and Alice Harrison in Eau Claire. She attended schools in Eau Claire, graduating from Memorial High School in 1961. She lived most of her life in Eau Claire and the surrounding areas.
Sandy is survived by son John Kuhn of Eau Claire; daughter Ruth (Mick) Erickson of Cleghorn; grandsons Marcus Erickson and Mitch (Mary) Erickson; granddaughters Chanel Erickson, Amanda (Michael) Lopez, Mya Girard, and Tia Girard; several cousins; and cherished friend Mark Kruger. She was predeceased in death by her parents, her daughter Melissa Kuhn, her grandson Michael John Erickson, former husband Bob Kuhn and former husband Gary Gosnell.
Sandy enjoyed many things in life and took on many passions. She could play multiple musical instruments including piano, guitar and accordion. She had an incredible artistic talent and painted and drew many amazing pictures. She liked crocheting and was known for her afghans that she made for family and friends. She created her own jewelry and was an avid reader. Sandy had a love for all of God’s creatures and was known for her deep love of rabbits. She was passionate in her love for her family and friends and will be remembered for all the heart she shared with them. She truly loved unconditionally and she was sure to let you know it. Sandy was so many things to so many people and will be greatly missed. A special thanks to her care team from Interim Hospice and to her caregivers at Care Partners for their extraordinary care of Sandy.
A memorial service for Sandra will take place at 3 pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Hulke Family Funeral Home with Chaplain Richard Rogers officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on that day from 1:30 pm until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
