Sally Ann Sterner, 79, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away on March 11th, 2026 surrounded by family after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 10th, 1946 in Whitehall, Wisconsin, Sally was the daughter of Palmer and Alice Koxlien. She was the fourth of six children, with two sisters and three brothers. She married Michael Sterner on December 31st, 1965.
Sally had many jobs throughout her lifetime. She worked at Donutland, Bakers Dozen, Lands End, McDonald’s and Shopko. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Sally loved going to wineries with her daughter and granddaughters, which inspired her first tattoo at age 74 (fittingly it was a grapevine). Sally also enjoyed going to coffee with her friends on Friday and Saturday mornings, along with Music in the Park in the summer. Sally was a great baker, known for her fudgy cupcakes which everyone enjoyed. She especially loved baking for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sally was up for trips with her friends, whether it was day trips or extended stays in the warmer climate during winter months. Sally was always down for an adventure.
She is survived by her daughter Michele (Bradley) Priest, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and her son Mark (Paige) Sterner of Magna, Utah; her sister Florence Larson and brothers Cliff Koxlien and Willie Koxlien; six grandchildren: Melanie (Austin) Belden, Kali (Connor) Priest, Samantha (Logan) Moser, Victoria (Stetson) Pentico, Ryan (Megan) Sterner, and Ashleigh (Trevor) Forster; eight great grandchildren with two more expected this year. Plus her many other friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike.
Please join us in celebrating Sally by wearing pink and black to the Celebration of Life.
Celebration of Life Service for Sally will take place at 12 pm (noon) on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Hulke Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Schulz officiating. Memorial visitation will take place that day at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of service.
