Robert Vollendorf

Robert Benjamin Vollendorf, 73, peacefully passed away in the early morning of August 10, 2024 at Oakwood Health Services, Altoona, WI. Robert Benjamin Vollendorf was born on December 16, 1950 in Eau Claire, WI., to Robert and Ardys (nee Olson) Vollendorf. Bob grew up and lived his entire life on the family farm in the town of Wheaton, Chippewa County, WI. Bob was the pesty little brother to older sister Jeanne Boring. Bob graduated in 1969 from Memorial High School.

He went on to attend college at UW-River Falls, before being called home due to his father's death.

Robert returned home to take on the family business of a dairy farmer.

Robert married Lonnie Jo (nee Howard) Hampton on February 14, 2003. While Robert had no children of his own, he was the father figure to his nieces Kris Dubiel and Mikki Freeman, and stepfather to Jennifer Fleming and Elizabeth Hampton. Bob is survived by their children Mikayla Freeman, Timothy Fleming, William, Ashley and Alexandra Sausker.

Bob was preceded in death by father, Robert B Vollendorf, Mother, Ardys (Olson) Vollendorf and infant brother, Dana Benjamin.

Robert had been a 20 year, plus member of the town of Wheaton fire department. Bowled on Wagner's

Thursday nighters, where he met his future wife. Bob was also a member of the Tuesday night Lion's organization, and past president of the Chippewa Valley Forage Councl. He also proudly served over 35 years for the Eau Claire Oil Company

A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at St John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11 am. Pastor Christine Emerson will officiate. There will be no visitation on Monday morning at the church.

Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday evening, August 18, 2024 from 3-6 pm.  Committal services will take place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound at 1:45 on Monday.
