Robert G. Denson

Robert “Bob” G. Denson, 81, of Eau Claire, WI passed away into his eternal home Thursday, May 25, 2023 surrounded by family at Care Partners Country Terrace in Eau Claire, WI.  

Bob was born March 24, 1942, in Eau Claire, WI.  He grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Memorial High School in 1960. After high school he spent time working at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire before joining the Air Force in November of 1961.  During his time in the Air Force, he was stationed in South Korea, Guam, and the Philippines.  After leaving the service in 1968, he returned to Eau Claire.  On April 17, 1971, he married the love of his life Sandy Ender in Eau Claire.  Bob was employed with Uniroyal for 23 years.  Bob was an electrician by trade.  He spent 23 years working for Uniroyal and then went to work for the IBEW from where he retired.  

In his free time, he enjoyed photography, fishing, snowmobiling, playing guitar, and gardening.  His two children, Chris and Holly, were the light of his life and he loved spending time with them, especially on family vacations which provided many memories over the years.  He spent most of his life living in Eau Claire.   Bob and Sandy moved to Colorado to be closer to Chris and to watch their granddaughter Alexa grow up.  After living in Colorado, they moved back to Eau Claire to continue to enjoy time with family and all the activities in which Alexa participated.  Later in life Bob enjoyed puzzles, his iPad, and watching sports.  In 2018 he moved to Care Partners Country Terrace.  He loved the staff and friends he made living there.  

Bob was a wonderful, caring man who will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by his son Chris Denson (Wendy), daughter Holly Lauer (Ben), granddaughter Alexa Denson and his brother James Denson (Shara).  He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Phyllis Denson, and by his wife Sandy Denson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Care Partners Country Terrace for resident activities or to the Eau Claire County Humane Society.

 Funeral service will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave, Eau Claire, WI. Pastor David Forke and Chaplain Karl Schearer will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service at church on Monday. Committal service will take place at a later date in Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire.
