Richard "Dick" F. Piltz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard "Dick" Piltz, who passed away at home on August 22, 2024.

Dick was born on October 2, 1938 in Minneapolis, Mn the son of Leo and Mildetta Piltz.  He grew up in Oshkosh, Wi then served in the U.S. Air Force.  Dick started his career in the Glass Industry before becoming an entrepreneur where he had founded several businesses, primarily Piltz Glass & Mirror and Five Star Plastics.  Dick was also very instrumental in several other Businesses and Board of Directors in/around the Eau Claire area.

Dick is survived by his wife Mary-Lu Piltz, together they have (5) Children: Greg (Lisa) Piltz, Sue Piltz, Diann (Todd) Davis, Wayne (Kris) Piltz, and Steve (Dara) Piltz (9) Grand Children:  Jake Davis, Trenton (Savannah) Piltz, Erika (Connor) Fiset, Serena (Jon) Krejchi, Drew (Lauren) Davis, Kayla Piltz, Sheila Haskings, Cole Piltz, and Ella Piltz along with (7) Great Grand Children:  Bear, Boone Aryaman, Owen, Riley, Tripp and Griff. 

Dick enthusiastically enjoyed sharing his passions for boating and travel with his family and would often share stories about his experiences with a great sense of humor and wisdom.  He will be missed by many family members, friends, and community for his devoted work, involvement, and dedication to Christianity.    

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at St. James The Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St, Eau Claire, WI 54703 with Father Tom Krieg officiating.  Visitation will take place at Hulke Family Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, August 27, 2024 from 4-6:30 pm. A Rosary will take place at 6:30 pm to conclude the evening’s visitation.  There will be no visitation at the church on Wednesday morning prior to the service.  A private family committal service will take place at the Chapel of the Resurrection Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Friends and family may offer condolences online at www.hulkefamilyfh.com.
