Ray Moeller, 85, of Eau Claire, was handed back to Heaven on the evening of Friday September 19, 2025. He passed away suddenly following a bike accident.
He was born in Chicago, Il on April 2,1940. He lived there until his family moved to Waupaca, WI in 1948. He graduated from High School in 1958 and attended MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Il where he obtained a BA in Sociology. There he met his wife Peggy Jo Herrin and they were married on Sept. 1, 1962. He then obtained his MA in Social Work from University of Chicago. He was the Director of Social Work at Elgin Hospital until they moved to Eau Claire, WI in 1967.
They welcomed their first daughter, Lisa in 1968 on the very same day that Ray earned his pilot's license. Two and a half years later, right after a boat ride, they welcomed their second daughter, Becky. Ray was very driven to build his career. He enjoyed many roles including social worker at Sacred Heart Hospital, Director of Social Work at the EC Academy, College Admissions for various colleges. Ray & Peggy built their family around faith and enjoyed 42 years together. He loved sharing memories of their family life on Lake Eau Claire at their family cabin. His passion for water sports like skiing, boating, fishing, kayaking, and swimming were enjoyed often on Lake Eau Claire. When the lake was frozen, he could be found cross country skiing or ice fishing. In 2005, Peggy got a head start on Heaven following a long battle with cancer.
Ten years later, God brought Donna Mae Crawford into Ray's life. She shared his faith and love for polka dancing. On May 30, 2015 they were married. They were blessed with time with family & friends, many trips to various lakes and the "trip of a lifetime" to Israel. They could commonly be found taking the "scenic route" throughout WI to polka fests and finding the best ice cream shoppes.
In February of 2025, he overcame his own cancer diagnosis & treatment. When he wasn't on the move, he could be found reading devotions, Bible Studies, books and watching John Hagee,
Robert Jeffries, David Jeremiah & other inspirational sermons & movies. He was working on getting his endurance and strength back by attending a health club and riding his Ebike.
His favorite thing in the world was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Donna Moeller, his daughters Lisa (Tom) Jashinsky, Becky (Allan) Albricht, stepchildren Brad (Kathy) Crawford, Pam (Joe) Chilson, granddaughter Abby (Josh) Bogle, grandsons Carter Peuse, Nick Marz, step grandchildren Sarah (Mark) Ingbretson, David (Cortney) Albricht, Anna (Jason) Flora, Abby Albricht.
This isn't a final goodbye; we are so grateful for this assurance... until we meet again in Heaven. And what a day that will be!
