Ralph C. Miller

Ralph C. Miller, age 87, passed away on May 11th, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Born on April 6, 1938, in Muscatine, IA, Ralph was the youngest of four children to Victor and Esther (Brenneke) Miller. He attended a country school for eight years before graduating from a large high school in Muscatine. At the age of eight, Ralph accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and felt called to Christian service during his teenage years. He pursued his education at Northwestern College in Minneapolis, MN, and later at Denver Seminary in CO.

In 1960, Ralph married the love of his life, Dorothy Walker, at First Baptist Church in West Concord, MN. Together, they served Baptist churches in Granada, MN, Windom, MN, Eau Claire, WI, Manchester, IA, Eaton, CO, and Elkhorn, NE, before retiring in Eau Claire, WI, in 2001. Their ministry continued with interim work in Luck, Prentice, and Stetsonville, WI, completing 53 years of dedicated service.

Ralph was known for his sense of humor and his partnership with Dorothy in catering and other ministry projects. He also enjoyed gardening, riding motor scooters, and bird watching.

After Dorothy's passing, Ralph found love again and married Mariel Perry in 2024.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother (1960), sister (1964), father (1971), son Steven (2013), sister Ruth (2016), wife Dorothy (2020), and brother Paul (2022).

He is survived by his second wife Mariel, daughter Susan (Steve) Daggett of Eau Claire, son Stacy (Amy) Miller of Cedar Rapids, IA, daughter Shawn (Gregory) Hartzel of Plymouth, MN, seven grandchildren: Steven (Katelyn) Miller, Timothy (Kelsey) Daggett, Lindsey (Wyatt) Brooks, Jamie Miller, Melissa Hartzel, Mark (Lily) Hartzel, Ethan (Nikki) Miller, and five great-grandchildren: Harvey Miller, Dorothy Daggett, Adelaide Daggett, Willa Brooks, and Adam-Jack Miller.

A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Hulke Family Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 am until time of service. For a live stream of the service click here .
