Nancy J. Schultz

Nancy Jo Schultz of Eau Claire and, later in life, Chetek was surrounded by family as she peacefully left this world to join her husband Gerry in greener pastures on February 19, 2016.  Nancy was born on July 12, 1936 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Chester and Erika Stotesbury.  Nancy married her high school sweetheart Gerald Schultz on April 23, 1954. Nancy was a talented homemaker and after Gerry's retirement from banking in 1977 they together launched Nancy's Ceramics and the Eau Claire area's first Pumpkin Patch. They operated those businesses for nearly 20 years in Eau Claire before relocating to Chetek where they bought their dream hobby farm and continued operating their businesses until Gerry's passing in 2007. Nancy loved the simple pleasures of country life.....baking, decorating for and celebrating each and every holiday, flower and vegetable gardening, picking the strawberries and raspberries that she grew, keeping a beautiful home and yard, selling ceramics and produce at area craft sales and farmer's markets, church on Sunday mornings and spending time with her family and, in her final years, her special friend Elmer Belden. Nancy is survived by four daughters Paula (John) Vogler of Eau Claire, Jackie (Andy) Bethel of Wausau, Rebecca (Luke) Anderson of St. Paul, and Elizabeth (Todd) Wadzinski of Wausau and one son, David (Robin) of Chetek; nine Grandchildren, Bryan (Valerie) Bethel, Brittany (Rob) VandenLangenberg, Nate (Danielle) Anderson, Jared (Lauren) Anderson, Ben (Kristin) Gille, Josh (Carrie) Gille, Erin (Matt) Hoeft, Zack (Bethany) Schultz, Kiersten (Andrew) Robertson, and seven great grandchildren. Nancy's siblings also survive her; Dale (Donna) Stotesbury of Winter, Lynn (Warren) Johnson of Winter and Jane Hoepner of Menomonie. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, 34 Washington St., Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or through their website at www.curealz.org.  100% of your memorial will go toward research.Memorial services will take place at 11 am on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Prairie Lake Covenant Church, 1954 8th Avenue, Chetek, WI 54728, 3 miles west of Chetek on County Highway D.  Pastor Noel V. Memorial visitation will take place at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2-4 pm and at the church on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 10 am until the time of service.
