Murelyn C. Young

Murelyn Constance Young, 88, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Dove Healthcare West, under the care of Mayo Hospice.

Murelyn was born in Boyd, WI on December 28, 1935 to Valentine and Margaret (Anacker) Baertlein. She is a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School. She married Charles Roberts on March 2, 1957, they later divorced. She then married Ron Young on July 1, 1983. Ron precedes her in death.

She worked many years in food service at Eau Claire High School and Sacred Heart Hospital. Murelyn enjoyed crafting, puzzles and traveling. She and Ron traveled to all 50 states by motorcycle or RV. She loved to look at the beautiful scenery and make new friends along the way. They especially enjoyed the Arizona area, where they became snowbirds.

Murelyn is survived by her children, Kim Ricard of Lake Crystal, MN, Carrie (Kenneth) Lovelien of Boyd, Kelly (Deana) Roberts of Osseo, and Brenda Miller of Eau Claire; 8 grandchildren, Melissa Lovelien, Tyler (Samantha) Lovelien, Joshua (Amy) Roberts, Justin (Sarah) Roberts, Edward Heagle, Jr., David (Brittany) Heagle, Jennifer Heagle and Katherine Heagle; 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is further preceded in death by her parents; Sister Julia (Herman) Gindt; brothers, Harold (Gabrielle) and Max (Delores) Baertlein.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1812 Lynn Ave, Altoona, WI 54720. Father Greg Bohren will officiate. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Visitation will be held that morning, at St. Mary’s from 11:30 until the time of Mass.
