Maureen J. Suess

Maureen Jeanne Suess, 92, beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family at home.

The oldest of 3 siblings Maureen was born to Alfred and Rena Timm in Eau Claire, WI.

Upon graduating from Elk Mound High School Maureen was employed as an x-ray technician and worked at Timm's Dairy (her family's business) for 42 years. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing piano and serving on various church committees. She met the love of her life, Andy Suess, while attending an ice cream social at a local church and they were married in 1957 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. After moving to Pittsville, Wl she raised her family and performed multiple City Clerk duties. Maureen enjoyed traveling with the family and together they visited many memorable destinations - including multiple trips to Hawaii.

Maureen is survived by her husband, Andy Suess and their 2 children: Jackie (Dale) Hayden and Mark (Kimberly) Suess. She was also blessed with 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by a sister, Linda Gilbert, and a brother, Jack Timm.

If you knew Maureen she loved many things in life but nothing more than her Lord, her family, her friends and anything with sugar. She found great delight in feeding and watching the birds, enjoying the beautiful flowers on the deck, and playing with the cats. Maureen loved music. Church hymns were among her favorites. Many days you would hear her singing, or whistling, while ironing in the kitchen. Even when her voice grew weak she whispered, or hummed, her favorite songs. She was patient, kind, gentle and a great listener.

We would like to extend a special thanks to St. Croix Hospice and Mama's "angels on earth" - her caregivers that became like family to us.

Mom, you left us with many beautiful memories. You will be dearly missed but we take comfort in knowing that you are safely home!

Funeral services for Maureen will take place at 11 am on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 105 S Holly Ave, Elk Mound, WI 54739 with Pastor Joel Certa-Werner officiating.  Visitation will take place that day at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service.  Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound immediately following the service.
