Matthew Coyle Obituary

Matthew Steven Coyle, 36, loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and father peacefully passed away at his home in Eau Claire, WI due to heart complications on June 4th, 2024.

Matthew (Matt) was born on June 22nd, 1987 to Steve and Paulette Coyle (Bartosh) in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated from Memorial High school in 2005, where he was a three-sport athlete. Matt’s love for sports began at an early age and continued throughout his life.

Matt began working early in life when he started officiating hockey and baseball. Throughout the years, he gained many friendships through different jobs. He worked at Thorp Landscaping and Gander Mountain, before joining the Eau Claire Area School District. Most recently Matt worked at Prairie Ridge Early Learning Center, where he took great pride in what he did, and adored his work family.

In 2008, he met the love of his life Kelsey Dodge from Osseo, WI. They married on September 23rd, 2017. Matt and Kelsey were then blessed with two children, Makenna (5) and Brooks (2). Makenna and Brooks were his pride and joy. He loved so much watching them grow.  As a family they did so many things together; from attending music festivals, sporting events, and swimming, to simply spending time with their loved ones.  Matt took exceptional pride in his lawn and decorating for the holidays. He shared his love of golfing, fishing, and recreational leagues with so many of his family and friends.

Blessed and beyond grateful to have shared his life are his wife Kelsey, his daughter Makenna, son Brooks, & their dog Murphy. He is also survived by his parents Steve & Paulette Coyle; Brother Shawn Coyle (Teiko); Sisters Nikki Kloss (CJ) and Stephanie Schroeder (Ryan); In-laws Stuart & Carol Dodge; Sister In-law Kari Dodge; Nieces & nephews Bella, Lexi, Jada, Nolan, Mia, Emma, Deyanna, Sophie, Emily, Mason, Jax, and Reid; as well as so many other close family members and wonderful friends.

Matthew is preceded in death by Grandparents Frank & Margie Bartosh, Arlene Coyle, Bert & Doris Coyle, & special relatives Bob Berg & Kent Dodge.

Mathew had a passion for life and supporting others in all that they do.  He was humble, selfless, caring, and kind.  He was appreciative, giving, and always calm.  He cared deeply for so many, but no one more than his wife and kids.  Although he is gone, his legacy and attributes will live on through his family and children, who will celebrate him always.
