Mary J. Krause

Mary Jane Krause, née Rugotzke, 79, of Eau Claire, WI passed away from cancer on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at home.  Mary, daughter of Clarence and Rachel (Justesen) Rugotzke was born August 9, 1945 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  She graduated from Augusta High School.  Mary worked in banking and as a paralegal for many years at Herrick and Hart in Eau Claire, WI.  

Mary loved the Lord, her family, pets, reading books and her home on the water.  She felt very blessed to be a grandmother or “Grammy.”

Mary is survived by her husband, Jack; daughters, Kylee (Kyle) Staebell of Eau Claire, WI and Kari (Ryan) Whalen of Schofield, WI;  Grandchildren, Reese Staebell, Jackson Staebell, Savannah Staebell, Preston Whalen and Avery Staebell; one brother, Thomas (Barbara) Rugotzke of Eau Claire, WI; sisters-in-law, Marty Rugotzke of Augusta, WI, Julie Renz of Eau Claire, WI, and Mary Krause of Eau Claire, WI; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-dad, Dallas Sieg; sister Rebecca Shong; brother David Rugotzke; brothers-in-law Wayne Shong, David Krause, George Renz, Bill Peterson; sister-in-law Kathlyn Peterson; nephew Scott Rugotzke; and niece Kris Renz. 

There will be a private funeral service held for family.
