Marlene Rose Eytcheson was born in Richland Co., Wisconsin on North Jaquish Hollow Rd. in the town of Ithaca, August 17, 1934 to Beatrice and Arthur Dietz. She went home to be with her Savior on December 26, 2024.
When Marlene was in 6th grade, the family moved to Hayward, Wisconsin where she graduated from high school in 1952. The next day Howard and Marlene were married in the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hayward. A few days later they left for North Carolina where Howard was stationed in the Marine Corps. After that they moved to Illinois and eventually returned to Wisconsin, settling in Chippewa Falls. Over the years they had 2 children, Barbara and Michael. Marlene worked as an office manager for many years at Mason Shoe Company. Marlene enjoyed crafting and playing the piano and organ. The couple did a lot of travelling including Mexico, Canada, and Europe. Marlene was involved in establishing new churches in Illinois and Wisconsin. She also loved helping in children’s ministries.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Barb Spielman and a son, Mike (Gail) Eytcheson. She is also survived by granddaughters Amelia Spielman and Addie (Kevin) Eytcheson, grandsons
Ben (Staci) Zwiefelhofer, Adam (Brianna) Zwiefelhofer, and Isaac (Emily) Zwiefelhofer. Additional survivors include Kally (Jesse) Burns, Lee (Jennifer) Lech, and many nieces,
nephews, and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Clark, her brother-in-law, Jerry Eytcheson, and sisters-in-law Betty Glidden and Gayle Carlson, as well as
many other relatives.
Marlene was preceded in death by: her husband Howard, her parents Arthur and Beatrice Dietz, her sister Marjorie Klynsma, and her sister Mary Ellen Barnhardt.
A Funeral Service will be held at Eau Claire Wesleyan Church at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 3, 2025. Pastor Mark Nordtvedt will officiate. Burial will be held at 1:00 at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Hulke Family Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. There will be NO visitation Friday morning at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Hope Gospel Mission or Feed My People Food Bank.
