Lana Marie (Jensen) Carroll, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. She was born on May 5, 1949, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to Wayne and Anita Jensen.
Lana grew up in Eau Claire and attended Regis High School, where she met the love of her life, Richard Carroll. The couple attended UW-Madison together and were married on August 22, 1970. The following year, Lana graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
After college, Lana and Richard moved to Downers Grove, Illinois, where she began her career as a teacher, teaching Special Education at Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn, IL. During this time, they also started their family, welcoming their sons, Ryan and Brenden. The family soon returned to Eau Claire to be closer to their families and roots. In Eau Claire, they expanded their family with the birth of their daughter, Meghan.
Lana’s teaching career flourished as she took on various roles within the educational community. She spent many years teaching high school math classes and also served as a middle school substitute teacher. Her passion for education did not wane; later in her career, she embraced technology by teaching computer classes at the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lana was celebrated for her generous and loving nature, deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ. She had a remarkable ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger, which allowed her to cultivate numerous special friendships throughout her life. Her love for Jesus was evident in all aspects of her life, guiding her actions and interactions. Additionally, Lana cherished her family more than anything. Throughout her life, Lana demonstrated an unwavering and unconditional love for her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Lana was welcomed to her Heavenly home on November 6, 2024, at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Gene Jensen. She is survived by her children Ryan (Karn) Carroll, Brenden (Elena) Carroll, and Meghan (Missy) Collins; three grandsons, Seth and Sean Carroll, and Koa Collins; brothers James (Kathryn) Jensen and Michael Jensen; sisters Sharon (Timothy) Carpenter and Pamela (Mark) Prissel; sisters-in-law Mary (Drew) Ryberg and Susan Carroll; many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to thank Mayo Advanced Care at Home and Mayo Hospice staff for the wonderful care and compassion they showed Lana.

A celebration of Lana’s life and faith will be held at Hulke Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Visitation begins at 10:00 a.m. and the service is at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow.
