Kristina "Tina" J. (Hays) Baker

After a hard-fought battle with cancer, Kristina Baker (Hays) age 51 peacefully passed away Friday, August 18, 2023.

She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on December 16, 1971, to Allen Hays and Bonnie Hays (Werlein). She started her career as an accountant at Market & Johnson and continued to work there until her passing, 30 years later. Tina was devoted to her work and loved her job and her M&J family. She loved heading to warm places during Wisconsin’s cold winters, taking care of her beautiful plants, and spending time with her family and friends at car shows. In 2009, she fought her first battle with cancer and was cancer free for 13 years before being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Despite the odds, she never gave up and continued working, doing her favorite activities, and spending time with loved ones. Tina embodied perseverance and independence while being a kind soul that anyone could lean on for help. As a result of her kind demeanor, she was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to meet her.

Tina is survived by her daughter, Allie Brummond; her mother, Bonnie Hays; her brother, Mike Hays and sister-in-law, Wendy Hays; three step-children, Brett Baker, Cody Baker, and Elliot Baker; and many step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Hays; father, Allen Hays; and husband, Jeff Baker. 

Flowers are appreciated. Memorials can be donated to the American Cancer Society in Kristina's name.

Visitation for Kristina will take place at Hulke Family Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 1-4 pm. A private celebration of life service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday at 4 pm to conclude the visitation.
