Karen Ann Robinson, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, to join her beloved husband, Willie, in heaven.
Born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on December 17, 1944, to Pauline and Carl Messerschmidt, Karen’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was baptized on January 3, 1945, and later confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 26, 1957. She attended Fall Creek High School and went on to graduate from Luther Hospital School of Nursing on August 29, 1970.
As a dedicated nurse, Karen served others faithfully for many years. She began her career in North Dakota before returning to Eau Claire to work at Luther Hospital, and later at Chippewa Manor in Chippewa Falls.
On December 1, 1974, Karen married the love of her life, Wilbert “Willie” Robinson. Their marriage of 22 years was a joyful adventure, highlighted by the four houseboat journeys they made together between Pepin, Wisconsin, and Biloxi, Mississippi. Karen’s greatest joy was reminiscing about and sharing these cherished memories of her time with Willie.
She will be remembered for living a life of intention and purpose. She thoughtfully wrote notes and cards to friends and family, and she generously supported causes close to her heart.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Willie.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 1915 Hogeboom Avenue in Eau Claire. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek.
