Karen J. Larson, 81, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away surrounded by loved ones at home on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Karen was born March 10, 1943, to Violet Lang in Wausau, WI. She married her soulmate Doug Larson, on September 25, 1964.
Karen graduated from Altoona High School in 1962 and went on to work at Shedd Brown and the Interoffice, and later in life at Classic Moving and Storage. She enjoyed caring for children throughout the years, nannying for many families and her own grandchildren. She and Doug were blessed with 3 children: Kelly, Chad, and April. Karen loved spending time in the garden and in the kitchen, making delicious meals for her family and keeping the tradition of “Sunday dinner” with her children for years. She loved spending her summers camping and being “up north”. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and was always the first one on the dance floor and the last one off.
She was a very proud grandmother and great grandmother, and an enthusiastic Green Bay Packer fan. Survived by her children, Kelly (Steve) Mueller, Chad Larson, and April Larson (lifetime partner Jim Woodford). Her much-loved grandchildren, Stephen Woodford, Kaci (Sam) Weber, Brad (Tess) Mueller, and Jeffrey Woodford. Her great-grandchildren Walker Mueller and Madison Weber. Siblings; Chuck (Elsie) Lang, Beve Larson, and Al “Butch” Lang. Along with many other beloved nieces, nephews, friends, family members and special friends, Carol Sue Olson and Janice Lane.
