John Hughes

John Richard Hughes age 72 of Eau Claire, WI passed away Thursday April 10, 2025 at Dove West Reflections and under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

John was born August 25, 1952 to John Richard Hughes Sr. and Janet (Viora) Hughes.

John married Peggy Ann Behling on April 1, 1978 and they were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Nora and Kathryn.

John was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved cooking, playing games, spending time with family, photography, playing cards and black jack.

John is survived by his children, Nora (Joe) Czerniecki, Kathryn (Jesse) Simm; Grandchildren Fiona and Lainey Czerniecki. Sister, Trudie (Matt) Brixen. John was preceded in death by his wife Peggy; sister Judie Skifstad; Brothers Jeff and Patrick Hughes.

A Funeral Mass will be held at11:00 AM at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Eau Claire on Saturday, May 3, 2025 with visitation starting at 10:00. Burial of John and Peggy will be held at 1:30 PM at Lakeview Cemetery.
