John William Friederichs

June 4, 1943 – June 5, 2025

John William Friederichs, 82 of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025, after a courageous journey with Parkinson’s disease. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

John was a devoted husband to Mary Ann, his wife of 55 years, and a proud father to Kevin (wife Tricia Friederichs), Stephen Friederichs, and Renee (husband Tom Adamson). He was also a cherished grandfather to Samantha, William, Katelynn, Gavin, and Lauren Friederichs, and Hawksley and Maple Adamson.

Born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, John carried with him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. He was the owner and operator of the Meineke Car Care Center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he was known not only for his honesty and high standards of service, but for always taking the time to talk with his customers. He valued those conversations and the relationships he built—believing that good service went hand in hand with genuine connection.

A true sports enthusiast, John loved watching and talking about the game—any game. He also found great joy in tending to his lawn, taking pride in keeping it pristine and green—a quiet reflection of the care he gave to all areas of his life.

John will be deeply missed by his family, friends, loyal customers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, or to honor John’s memory by planting a tree.

A memorial service for John will take place at 11 am on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Pastor Christine Emerson officiating.  Memorial visitation will take place at the church on that day from 10 am until the time of service.  Inurnment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the memorial service with a luncheon at the church to follow.
