Jean Hince Obituary

Jean Ellen (Newton) Hince was unexpectedly called home to heaven on January 2, 2024 at 65 years young.

She was born to Marvel and Gerald Newton on July 12, 1958 in Eau Claire WI. She was Baptized, Received First Communion and Confirmed at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brackett, WI. Growing up she was involved in 4-H, Forensics, and the Chippewa Valley Gem and Mineral Society. She eloped with Keith Hince on May 19,1979, where during the ceremony lightning struck the church.

Their marriage was blessed with 3 children, and later 5 grandchildren. Jean loved to spend time with kids. She was very involved with her children, grandchildren and any
child in need of a mother/grandmother. Jean worked for many years in the UW-system, at both UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire before retiring to become full time daycare for her grandchildren.

Jean was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church-Cleghorn, holding multiple roles including Congregation Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of multiple event committees.  In her free time Jean enjoyed crafting, this included everything from Knitting to Ceramic Painting to Paper Crafting to Sewing and she was passing these skills on to the next generation in teaching her granddaughters.  She especially enjoyed altering wedding dresses for family and friends and making bridal veils to match those dresses. Jean enjoyed hosting holidays and family gatherings, and always made sure to invite anyone who needed a family to celebrate a holiday with.

Jean will be remembered for her selflessness, which has been carried on through tissue donation to help 50 people in need. She will also be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her caring and compassionate heart, and her willingness to help wherever and whoever she could.

Jean is survived by her Husband of 44 years, Keith Hince.  Her Children, Christine (Nicholas) Koerner, Kelsey (Austin) Ebert, Maxwell (Brittany) Hince.  Her Grandchildren, Coretta, Augusta and Dominique Koerner, AvaLynn Hince, and Maverick Ebert. Multiple siblings, nieces and nephews, in-laws, and friends who were all considered family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvel and Gerald Newton and Son, Patrick Hince.
