Jayne Elizabeth Woodburn, age 66, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 6, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Robert and Elizabeth Woodburn. Jayne dedicated her life to education and service, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Education and her Master of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. She spent her career as a devoted Special Education teacher in public schools, where she made a lasting impact on countless students and families through her immense compassion and patience.

Jayne was also deeply involved in her faith community. She was an active and dedicated member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire, where she served in various roles, including as an interim for elder ministry. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives both within and beyond the church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Maria de los Angeles Elizabeth Woodburn; her sister, Beth Ann Woodburn; and her partner of 23 years, Jim Hazelton. She is further survived by extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Jayne will be laid to rest at the First Congregational UCC Memorial Garden immediately following the service. The family warmly invites all who attend to join them for a luncheon following the burial to share memories and celebrate Jayne’s life. In lieu of flowers, Jayne requested memorials go to Doctors Without Borders, Shriners Hospital for Children, Chippewa Valley Free Clinic, or the First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Jayne’s legacy of compassion, dedication, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
