Jarrod Hill, age 52, of Eau Claire, WI (formerly of Canton, SD) passed away peacefully on Friday, August 30, 2024 at his home under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice. He fought a courageous 10 year battle with cancer.
He was born on October 14, 1971. He attended Canton Schools and graduated from Canton High School. Jarrod worked throughout his life in various professions, most recently as a stay at home dad. He relished his role as stay at home dad to his two youngest children, Henry and Hazel; and they enjoyed endless laughter, learning and fun in their time spent together. Those memories will live on in Henry and Hazel for their entire lives.
He is survived by his wife, Taylor Galarnyk Hill; sons, Sawyer (Anna), Dawson and Henry; daughter, Hazel; parents Ron and Kathy Hill; sisters Randi Merrill, Ronda (Gary) Headrick and Sara (Mark) Sipple; father-in-law Timothy Galarnyk; mother-in-law Toni Galarnyk; sister-in-law, Tessa Galarnyk and best friend Todd (Laura) Trumm. Jarrod will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his biological father, Merle Wiarda, paternal and maternal grandparents, two uncles, one aunt and close friend Ryan Olson.
Jarrod will be remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and kind heart. He loved to travel (Scottsdale was his favorite) and spend time doing anything outdoors, His passion for the Minnesota Vikings & Milwaukee Brewers was strong - through the good and bad. We’ll know when the Vikings finally win their Super Bowl, that Jarrod had a hand in that.
