Jan Robert Sacia of Eau Claire, Wisconsin passed away peacefully from a courageous battle with complications of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma during a brief stay, at Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral Florida December 14, 2023.
He was the child of Robert Sacia and Ruth Halderson Sacia Gerard born April 4, 1937. He grew up on the family apple orchard in Galesville, WI with his father Robert Sacia, step mother Joyce Sacia step siblings, John Sacia, William Sacia, Mary Sacia Jaeger, and Paul Sacia.
Jan graduated from Galesville High School and retained a very close relationship with his high school classmates to this date.
He entered the Navy after HS graduation and was a jet mechanic on air crafter carriers in the Mediterranean and served in the reserves for a year after his active duty.
Jan married Doris Onsrud (divorced, now deceased) in 1960. Their children were Shelley (Paul Ayres), Pam (Matt Pace, David Dabruzzi, Steve Pfeffer), Jeff (Susan Lund).
His second marriage to Anita Carhart Sacia on March 12, 1977 and their children were Brandon (Lindsey Popp) Dana (Krystal Wilsey).
14 Grandchildren, Alex Ayres, Charlie Ayres, Emily Ayres, Jackie Pace, Joseph Dabruzzi, Heidi Sacia Roth, Elisabeth Sacia Card, Erica Sacia Miller, Amy Sacia, Marc Sacia, Kaylee Sacia, Bryson Sacia, Miles Sacia and Adalynn Sacia. 8 great grandchildren.
Jan came to Eau Claire with 20 dollars in his pocket in 1960. He sold cars at Link Brother Ford, joined the Eau Claire Fire Dept in 1969 and served as an engine operator and EMT until retirement in 1990. He started investing in real estate in 1967 and with his formula of buying right, holding, and never getting emotionally attached he and his wife Anita Sacia built a successful real estate business that he was involved with until the day he died.
Jan enjoyed fishing, and hunting at his lake home in New Auburn, WI and winters at his home in Cape Coral, FL. He had a profound love for his Green Bay Packers, and Wisconsin Badgers. His largest passion was antiques and you could find him wheeling and dealing at his annual sale on Hwy 40 in New Auburn with his best friends Jim Harnish, Mike Menard, and Dave & Linda Schultz.
Jan was a larger-than-life man that touched so many. His love for life, family, and special friends was profound and he will be forever missed.
