Helen (Strasburg) Hartmann Obituary

Helen I. (Strasburg) Hartmann, of Fall Creek, passed away on Saturday June 15, 2024 at the Classic in Altoona and under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

Helen was born on October 27, 1934 in Fall Creek. She was the daughter of George and Mabel (Stabenow) Strasburg. She married Robert H. Hartmann on October 27, 1963 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. Robert preceded her in death in 2015.

After graduation from Fall Creek High School, she was employed at the State Bank of Fall Creek for 30 years. During this time, she enrolled in various business classes at the technical school and graduated from UW Graduate School of Banking in Madison. In 1984, Helen continued with employment at Royal Credit Union until December 31, 1999.

Helen was an active member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, serving as Treasurer for many years and Secretary to the Church Board. She had an interest in the Fall Creek community and served on the Village of Fall Creek Planning Commission, Nursing Home Board and Election Board. Helen was President of the Fall Creek Retirement Housing INC. Board of Directors, an independent living development. She also served on the County Try Mediation INC. Board of Directors.

She is survived by her brother in law, Phillip (Ruth) Hartmann; nieces, Christine (Justin) Lundin and their daughters Allison and Malea, Heather (Zack) Henderson and their children Samuel, Caleb and Zoey; further survived by numerous cousins.

She is further preceded in death by her Father in 1990 and Mother in 1999.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday June 22, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 721 State Street, Fall Creek. Pastor Brendan Harris will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the memorial service. Inurnment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Fall Creek.

Memorials may be made in Helens’ honor to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Fall Creek Public Library or Fall Creek Historical Society.
