Gordon E. Larson

Gordon (Gordy) E. Larson, age 100 , of Eau Claire, Wi, passed away on Tuesday Nov. 14, 2023 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, Wi.

Gordon was born on July 11, 1923, to Sara (Erickson) Larson and Arnold Larson in a log cabin in Glen Flora, Wi.

In WW II Gordy served his country as a company clerk while being stationed in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge.  Upon returning to the U.S. after the war he met Rose Mary Loiselle whom he was married to for 57 Years. They had three children - Deidre, Lynette and Brian.  Also, after WWII he worked for C.R. Stocks in Eau Claire for over 40 years as a talented electrician.  He was a member of the IBEW for over 80 years and helped create the retired electrician club and was also an officer in the union  Besides this he was  involved with the Vocational/Technical School in Eau Claire.  He volunteered at the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum for many years and he was a member of the Kiwanis Club.  He was active in his church too.

He was preceded in death by his parents- Sara and Arnold Larson, four brothers- Arvid , Stanley, Russell and David Larson.

Gordon is survived by his sister Janice Beghun ; one son Brian E. Larson ; two daughter Deidre A. Lucas and Lynette Larson Antczak ; two granddaughters Wendy Killou and Ethan Antczak and many other family members and friends.

Gordon will be remembered for being a generous, loving and caring person by his family friends and those he worked with over the years.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 11-1 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E Lexington Blvd, Eau Claire, WI 54701. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm at the church following the visitation. A burial with military honors rendered by the American Legion Post #53 will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the funeral service.
