Elvira Casenas O'Brien

Elvira Casenas O'Brien of Lemon Grove California adored wife of Mark O'Brien died June 17, 2024 at home with loved ones following a lengthy illness in Omaha Nebraska.

Born December 28, 1939 in the Philippines to Santiago and Gertrudus A. Casenas. Elvira was the oldest of 12 children.

Survived by husband Mark, daughter Michelle (Tom) Poquette of Eau Claire,, sons Larry (Juliet) California and Gary of California. Grandchildren Jonothan, Daniel and Shaelin (Tylo) and great granddaughter Nova and great grandsons Armani and Kai, Siblings Rose, Pearl, Jessica, Edna, Orlando, Grace, Helen, and Norma, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was  Preceded in death by parents and brothers Harry, Royal, and Rudy. 

Elvira was a proud Navy wife after meeting and marrying Mark while he was stationed in the Philippines serving in the United States Navy. Elvira became a proud US citizen while remaining true to her Philippine heritage. She was a devout Christian, wife and mother and enjoyed gardening, and traveling. 

Service for Elvira will take place at 12 pm noon on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Hulke Family Funeral Home with Pastor Virgil Amundson officiating.  Memorial visitation will take place that day from 11 am until the time of service.
