Elsie Falkner

Elsie Berdine (nee Erickson, Anderson) Falkner of Eau Claire, WI passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Milestone Senior Living. She was 93 years old.

Elsie was born February 5th, 1930 in Fond du Lac, WI. She was the daughter of Teman and Gelina Erickson. She had 4 sisters: Elvina, Ruth, Sylvia and Marion. She was four years old when she came to Pigeon Falls, WI and made her home with Amy Smart and the Melford Hagen family. She graduated from Whitehall High School.

In 1948, Elsie met and married Donald Anderson. They moved to Eau Claire, WI and had their three daughters – Kathleen, Donna Jean and Barbara. She is preceded into Heaven by Donna Jean in 1953, Donald in 1990 and Kathleen in 2015.

Elsie later met and married Paul Falkner. They liked to dance, play cards, travel, cook and have morning coffee with the Mall-Walkers. They also enjoyed making pies and Lefse at Trinity Lutheran Church, spending time with family and friends. Paul also preceded Elsie into Heaven in 2017.

Elsie is survived by her daughter Barbara (Mark) Johnson; grandchildren Jeff (Heather) Rau, Niki (Ryan) Yarrington and Shannon (Caleb) Riebe; six great-grandchildren Erik, Owen, Ashton, Julia, Mason and Kyra; half-brother Charles Hagen; two step-sons Steve (Bonni) Falkner and Randy (Pyong) Falkner; two step-daughters Sharon Falkner and Carol Sue (John) Robelia; and many step-sisters, step-brothers, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the employees and staff at St. Croix Hospice, Milestone Senior Living, Heritage Assisted Living and Oakwood Hills Senior Living as well as Jody Shea of Assisted Living Locators and Dr. Halkova and the staff from Marshfield Clinic (especially the Golf Road location). They would also like to extend a special thank you to her Falkner family and her Oakwood Hills friends who became family.

The funeral service for Elsie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd, Eau Claire, WI. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service. Burial will take place in Pigeon Falls Evangelical Church Cemetery, Pigeon Falls, WI.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Elsie’s name to one of the following organizations: Spina Bifida Association, American Cancer Society, and/or Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
