Elizabeth Elaine Rundall

Elizabeth "Elaine" Rundall, 74, of Eau Claire, WI passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2023 at Dove West in Eau Claire.

Elaine was born on June 13, 1949 in Effingham, Illinois, the daughter of Louis and Hollis (Clark) Hays.

She attended Illinois State University (Normal) as a "blind area" major, graduating in 1972. She also earned an Associate's Degree in electronics from Chippewa Valley Technical College (Eau Claire) in 1990.

She occupied herself variously as a student, seamstress, teacher and director of Montessori schools, resort keeper, stay-at-home parent and homeschool teacher, computer electronics technician & engineer, home health aid, and foster grandparent.

Some of the things that brought Elaine the greatest joy were music and dancing, being in nature, and spending time with friends and family. In her later years she was active in Soul Dance and the Eau Claire Buddhist Sangha. She also enjoyed gardening, bicycling and cross country skiing. She will be remembered for many things, including her curiosity, her smile, her free and independent spirit, and for the attention, thoughtfulness, and presence she brought to the world around her.

She lived lightly on the earth.

Elaine is survived by her sister, Linda Fritz; two sons, Jerome Rundall and Jacob Rundall; and grandchildren Winter Omodth, Mielle Rundall, Mica Omodth, Jasper Rundall, Citlali Rundall Madrigal, Harlan Rundall, and Emilio Rundall Madrigal.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis "Pidge" Hays and Hollis (Clarke) Hays; and siblings, Harold Hays, Roderick "Rod" Hays, Edna "Alice" Bushue, and Patsy "Pat" Robertson.

A memorial service for Elizabeth will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday September 28, 2024 at Hulke Family Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Danielle Higley. Memorial visitation will take place that day at the funeral home from 1:30 pm until the time of service.
