Dorothy J. Webb, 88, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Heatherwood Memory Care facility in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Dorothy was born to Clarence and Thelma (Schaffner) Heit on September 11, 1934 on a farm in Arkansaw, Wisconsin. She was the 2nd of 9 children. She grew up on the farm spending time with siblings and an aunt who was one year younger than her.
She was 5 years old when she saw her husband Roger for the first time when his father came to the farm making a delivery. Years later they met at a dance and the rest is history. They were married on February 5, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Church in Arkansaw. They were married for 66 years and had six children.
Dorothy worked for American National Bank, Pleasant Company and Walmart however her favorite job was with Midelfort Clinic.
She loved playing cards, going to the casino, making good meals for her family. Her favorite time was time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Thelma Heit; her husband Roger; her siblings: Clarence Heit, Jr.; Bernard Heit and LaRena Kolve; in-laws: Evelyn Heit, Carole Heit, Bud Forster, and Mike Pittman.
Dorothy is survived by her children Tamera (Rick) Smeltzer, Debra (Dale) Nichols, Diane Kazmierczak, Jodie Karston, Brian (Chris) Webb and Todd (Donna) Webb; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchildren; siblings Sister Bernard Heit, Doug Heit, Carole Forster, Darla Pittman and John (Jane Heit) and a sister-in-law Jackie Heit, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Dorothy will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Father Francis Thadathil officiating. Visitation will take place from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at Hulke Family Funeral Home. There will be a 6 pm Rosary Service on Wednesday at the funeral home to conclude the evenings visitation. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 am until the time of service. Private family committal service will take place in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
