Donna Steinhauer Obituary

Heaven gained one of its finest, Donna Jean (Berg) Steinhauer passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at 6:32 a.m. She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Born on August 14, 1945, to the late Donald and Cleo Berg, Donna was a loving sister to Nancy (Dick) Kraft and Linda (Allen) Steinhauer. She grew up in Eau Claire and lived most of her life in the town of Brunswick. On February 11, 1967, she married the love of her life, Gordon C. Steinhauer, with whom she shared 55 beautiful years until his passing in March 2022. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and devotion.

Donna was a beloved mother to her four children: Joel G. Steinhauer (wife Barbara), Jami L. Peters (husband David), and Jason A. Steinhauer (wife Stacy). She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Charlyn A. Hintz, who passed three years and one week before her, leaving an ache Donna carried with grace. She also leaves behind her cherished son-in-law, Charlyn’s husband, Jeremy Hintz, and a legacy of love in her eleven grandchildren: Aaron Steinhauer, Sierra Shilts, Victoria Cederberg, Sabrina Steinhauer, Nicole Marshall, Spencer Steinhauer, Shaina Peters, Ethan Hintz, Benton Peters, Hazel Hintz, and Montgomery Steinhauer. Her nine great-grandchildren, Cateleya, Phoebe, Mathias, Kelsey, Diana, Wren, Loretta, Kasper, and Armor, were a constant source of joy, and she adored them deeply.

Donna’s life was marked by her love for family, her faith, and her unwavering optimism. Over the years, she faithfully served her church in Eau Claire, involving herself in vacation Bible school, supporting the Christian school, organizing the church bazaar sale, and coordinating the ladies’ Christmas banquet, among many other contributions. She painstakingly knitted dozens of baby hats, which she donated to local hospitals, embodying a true servant’s heart. Donna and Gordy hosted numerous youth gatherings in their home, always preparing food and treats for the young people.

She was a woman of deep conviction and positivity, spending her final days singing and joyfully anticipating “something big” to happen. That “something big” came when God graciously called her home, reuniting her with her beloved Gordy and Char, whom she missed so dearly.

Donna’s legacy is one of love, faith, and resilience. She will be remembered for her bright spirit, her generous heart, and the boundless love she gave to her family and friends. May God bless the memory of Donna Jean Steinhauer. She will never be forgotten.
