Donald "Don" F. Schuldt

Donald Franklin Schuldt, originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Dove West in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Don was born on July 10, 1942, in St. Paul to Dorothy Louise (Wichman) Schuldt and Franklin Wesley Schuldt. An only child, he grew up active in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed family vacations that included camping in all 48 contiguous states. These adventures sparked his lifelong curiosity about geography, cultures, and people. After completing high school and some college, Don worked briefly for the U.S. Postal Service before enlisting in the Navy. During his military service, he was stationed overseas near Vietnam and Japan. Later, he built a career at Buckbee Mears Corporation in St. Paul.

On November 23, 1974, Don married Linda Jean Lisle of Long Prairie, Minnesota. Together, they traveled extensively throughout North, Central, and South America before welcoming their daughter, Kristina.

Don had many passions, including travel, music, dogs, and collecting stamps and coins. He loved trivia, storytelling, and even a good conspiracy theory. In his younger years, he was an accomplished archer and a hobbyist pilot. Later in life, he enjoyed watching car races, retro crime shows, and listening to rock concerts.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Kristina; son-in-law, Tony; and granddaughter, Alivia. He is also fondly remembered by many friends and the caring staff at Dove who supported him in recent years.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Dorothy Schuldt; his younger brother; several aunts and uncles; and many beloved family pets, including Maddie, Phoebe, Chloe, Winnie, Simon, Mittens, and Cubby.

He was cremated and will be interred at Fort Snelling Cemetery at a future date, in accordance with his wishes. Friends and family may offer condolences online at www.hulkefamiliyfh.com.
