David “AJ” Haut, age 43, passed away unexpectedly at home on October 18, 2025. He was born in Moline IL to Scot Allen and Deborah Sue Haut. He worked for Securitas as a Security Guard in the same location for eight years. AJ was the lead guitar player in The Part Time Duo, the bass player in Bumblefist, and founder of the band The Old 57s. Music was a defining force in AJ’s life, and it shaped the essence of who he was.
AJ married his wife, Alissa Haut, in 2016. He was a man defined by his charismatic energy. He loved riding his motorcycle and scooter, so much so that he played a pivotal part in the Scoot Dawgs scooter club that raised thousands of dollars for Bob’s House of Dogs throughout the years. He enjoyed playing music with friends, playing video games with his cats for accomplices, and spending time traveling with his wife.
AJ is survived by his wife Alissa Haut, and his children Aiden Haut and Preston Haut, his father Scot Allen Haut and his brother Scot Phillip Haut. He was preceded in death by his mother Deborah Sue Haut. AJ had hundreds of fans and friends in so many different aspects of his life, from all over the world, that he cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge on November 9th from 1pm-5pm in Eau Claire WI. A short dedication ceremony will take place at 2pm. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations to assist with funeral and unexpected expenses are greatly appreciated. Donations, in honor of AJ, can be made payable to Alissa Haut’s Benefit Account at WESTconsin Credit Union.
