David Bud Koutney 73, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, June 5, 2023. David was born in Stanley, WI on June 17, 1949 to Frank and Mildred Koutney.

David is survived by his wife Barbara (Steinhauer) Koutney, two of his children; John (Amanda) Koutney, Kayla (Rich) Obcena, his grandchildren & step grandchildren; William (Rosie) Kasputis, Nathan Kasputis, Angelina (Ernie) Schnook, Joseph Lantz, Regina (Klaus) Galabe-Obcena, Dawson Koutney, Ricardo Obcena, Breanna Lantz, Ricara Obcena, Via Koutney. David Koutney worked for the city of Eau Claire for thirty years, most of that time spent as the Zamboni driver for Hobbs Ice Arena. However, David is most known for his landscaping business, Koutney’s Rockwalls, for which David received his certificate from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire for design. David has faithfully served Pentecostal Assembly Church with his family, he served as an usher and participated in the Men’s Group.

David’s love for designing and building elaborate and beautiful works of art in his landscaping was only overshadowed by his love for his family, fishing, hunting and traveling. If David wasn’t working, you could always find him at one of his many watering holes. David was known for kindness and compassion, as was shown by the many people he would take fishing or invite over for a good meal and a game of cards. David’s favorite place to travel was Alaska and had made many memories on his trips to Alaska either by car or plane. David has been to every state in the USA, except Hawaii, often bringing his grandchildren along on road trips.
