Chloe Lindsay Obituary

Our beloved Chloe Elizabeth Lindsay, 26, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 20, 2026.  She left us tragically in a motor vehicle accident driving in the Colorado mountains, where she felt closest to God.  She was joining her friends for a ski trip in Crested Butte, her favorite place to ski/snowboard.

Chloe is survived by her parents, Christopher and Jeanne Lindsay, her devoted twin sister Hannah, sister Sarah (Fiancé Luke Kubicek) and brother Luke.

Grandparents:  Jo-Ann Lindsay, Mike and Ruth Kasten.  Aunts and Uncles:  Kelly Ann Lindsay Diehl (Bill), Jonathan Lindsay (Jane), Nancy Flicek (Gene), Jill McRae, and Julie Kastbauer (Damian).  Cousins: Frederick and Meredith Diehl; Chase Lindsay (Katie), Shea Steadman (Sam); Sadie, Ava, Caden and Lainey Lindsay; Kelsey, Connor (Samantha) and Brendan McRae; Thora and Nico Kastbauer.  Chloe was preceded in death by her beloved “Grampie”, William Lindsay (Bill) and her cherished dog, Gus-Gus.  She especially loved  her annual trips to visit family in Naples, FL, and Falcon Lake Manitoba Canada.

Chloe was born in Edina, Minnesota at the same hospital as her her father, Chris.  Chloe was presented in dedication to the Lord at Christ Community Church in Rochester, MN. She lived in Rochester, MN up until her early elementary years.  She moved with her family to Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 3rd grade where she attended Crestview Academy, a Non-Denominational Christian School.  “Chloe grew up going to church at Jacob’s Well where she was part of the kids club and youth group. She learned and memorized many bible verses including Jeremiah 29:11 which always seemed to come up for her repeatedly!  The Lord would remind of it constantly and Chloe would give a knowing smile. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She then, attended and graduated from Memorial high School in 2017.

Chloe started college at the University of Minnesota, transferred to Bethel University for her spring semester.  She then took a gap year in her sophomore year and went to the Torchbearers International Bible School, Bodenseehof in Friedrichshafen, Germany.  She was pursuing and serving the Lord there and gained many fellow believers as friends.  She had many adventures and was able to travel across Europe with her sister Hannah. That summer she worked at Pine Cove Christian Youth Camp in Texas where she was able to share the gospel with many 8-9 year olds. She excitedly prayed with them to accept Jesus.  Romans 10:15: “As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!’”.   When she returned, she attended Baylor University and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education.  She graduated with Cum Laude honors.

Chloe started her teaching career in Colorado Springs, Colorado where she taught at Widefield High School and then Atlas Preparatory High School.  She taught high school English and Advanced Placement Language and Composition.  She moved home to Wisconsin after two years, after missing her family.  She worked as a long term substitute teacher in Mosinee High School and then at her alma mater, Memorial High School.

Chloe had a strong desire to move back to the Colorado mountains where she felt the Lord’s presence most ardently, in his beautiful creation. She worked at KIPP Denver Collegiate High School where she taught 9th grade World Studies.  She was recently honored as “Best Teacher” by her students and she was also just hired to co-coach the girls soccer team which she was very much looking forward to.

Chloe was a sweet, sensitive, compassionate, tender-hearted, joyful, vivacious and adventurous young woman. She was the peacekeeper in our family.  She was so smart and witty!  She was always good at making friends as a young girl and grew to be always inclusive as a young adult.  She had a heart for the marginalized and outcast, especially evidenced in her teaching career where she sought out kids that were “unseen”.  She vowed to make a personal connection with every student she had in her classroom.  The kids were drawn to her gentle, humble spirit. Her classroom was a place of refuge for students who were hurting, sad, lonely and even hungry.  She kept snacks and food in her drawers for kids who had nothing to eat. Her students would come just to sit with her before and after school and during lunch.

We take comfort that Chloe was sealed by the Holy Spirit as a very young girl.  “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit…” Ephesians 1:12-14.  She knew Jesus and pursued him, often crying out in prayer to him during her struggles. And, she did struggle, deeply and was a hurting soul.  “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-8

“I thank my God every time I remember you.  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with JOY because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confidant of this, that HE WHO BEGAN A GOOD WORK IN YOU WILL CARRY IT ON TO COMPLETION until the day of CHRIST JESUS.”  Philippians 1:3-6

May Chloe rest in eternal peace and love with the Lord Jesus.  Chloe, we will never forget you, or stop loving you and missing you.  You have our hearts forevermore until the end of time.
