Charles G. Anderson (Chuck) 86, passed away at home Sept 13, 2023, following illness in the care of Hospice.
Chuck was born in Grantsburg WI to Gordon and Myra (Thurner) Anderson. He was lovingly raised by his paternal grandparents, John and Anna, and Aunt Hazel Anderson with whom he and his brother resided. Grandpa John is credited with helping Chuck regain his strength and mobility after having contracted polio at age 3.
Chuck was a graduate of Grantsburg High School. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from UW-Superior. As a lifelong learner he received his Doctorate at age 51 from UW-Madison. He spent his career in education starting as an art teacher. Chuck retired having been a high school principal for 15 years, district administrator and college professor.
Membership and service to church was always a priority to Chuck. He spent time as a youth group leader, camp counselor, Deacon and Bible teacher. His visits with family and friends would include recollections of fishing trips, cabin adventures, Bible camp, school athletics, and wonderful times around a campfire. The last days included family members singing old favorite hymns around his bed.
Chuck is survived by his wife Patricia; sons, Karlen (Pattie), Greg (Kathy), Gary (Shelly) and daughter Charlene (Dean); brother, John W. Anderson and grandchildren, Krista, Anna, Janie, Carley, John, Grant, Jake, John, Michael, David and Joshua. Chuck was always happy to count the great grandbabies which are 16 with one on the way. He held dear many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife Judith; and brother Wayne McGrath.
Charles' life was lived here on earth, but his focus has always been Heaven and eternal life with his savior Jesus and a strong desire to leave a Godly heritage.
