Chandra Gauvin Obituary

Chandra Renee Gauvin, 58, of Chippewa Falls, was called home unexpectedly on Friday, April 3, 2026.

She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on May 11, 1967, to Giles and Shelby Gauvin.

She grew up in Eau Claire, graduating from North High School. She attended District One Technical Institute and then began her 35-year career at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire (formerly Luther).

Chandra loved spending time with family and friends, and she especially loved hosting family gatherings in her home. And like many of us do when we have downtime, she enjoyed watching her favorite classic TV shows.

Although she had no children of her own, she had many nieces and nephews and enjoyed attending as many of their activities as possible—from baptisms to weddings, school concerts to dance recitals, and everything in between. She would travel near and far to support them all.

Chandra loved animals, especially her pets, Mariko and Zoey, whom she treated as members of her family.

Her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was central to her life. She was a lifelong member of Concordia Lutheran Church. From her baptism, Sunday school, and confirmation to the present day, she rarely missed a weekly service. She was active in the altar guild, as well as other church activities throughout the years.

Chandra was an avid fan of Christian music and loved attending concerts and festivals, including a 20-year run at Lifest in Oshkosh, which she attended with family members each summer.

Chandra will always be remembered for her quiet demeanor, generous and kind heart, strong faith, and her loving support for family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all.

Chandra is survived by her brothers, David (Mandy) Gauvin, Randy (Ann) Gauvin, and Scott (Laurie) Gauvin; her sister, Dawn Heaviland; her half-brothers, Richard (Bevin) Allen, Rick Gauvin, and Randy (Beth) Prince; her stepsisters, Tonia and Tina; and her nieces and nephews: Nick, Christian (Beth), and Luke; Micole (Spyros) and Megan (Nathan); Trevor (Alyssabeth) and Trent; Kalina (Loren) and Morgan; Andrew, Shelby (David), Robert (Mia), Connor, MacKenzie and Donavin; and Karin and Riley, as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shelby Allen; her father, Giles Gauvin; her stepfather, Henry Allen; her stepmother, Pat Gauvin; and stepbrother, Tony Allen.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Hulke Family Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will take place the following day on Friday, April 24th at the Concordia Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM, with a visitation held an hour prior beginning at 10:00 AM. Chandra will be laid to rest at Northside Cemetery (also known as Norwegian Cemetery or Scandinavian Lutheran Cemetery) after the service. The family invites those to a luncheon at the church proceeding the burial.

The Hulke Family Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
