Chad Coleman Hunter, age 55, passed away in his home in Eau Claire on July 28th, 2025. He was born in Wausau, WI on February 26th, 1970, to Alison and Tom Hunter.
He grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from North High School. In his younger years he enjoyed a variety of sports, spending time water-skiing, cross-country skiing and he played football and basketball from grade school into High School. He also enjoyed playing tennis in high school. After high school, he started working in manufacturing doing extrusion. He was a loyal employee and grew in his trade. He spent the last 18 years working at Premium Waters Inc. where he started as an operator and eventually became a production supervisor. He also developed his interest in all things involving home theater and audio. He loved to joke that his TV could always be bigger, and one could never have enough speakers. His music tastes were eclectic, and you never knew what would be playing next on his playlist, but you could be sure it would be playing as loud as he could get away with.
He was a kind, humble, and loving man who was always willing to stand up for his beliefs. His many lifelong friends and his family always knew they could depend on him to be honest and straight forward and his sense of humor always brightened peoples' days. Like his father and siblings, he loved the Chicago Bears. He was a loving father to his 2 daughters from his first marriage and his girls meant the world to him. He married his wife, Michelle in 2013. He was a devoted husband, and their marriage was filled with laughter and love.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary Dachel, Jerome Rooney, Thomas and Loraine (Boettcher) Hunter; his father, Thomas "Lee" Hunter; and his sweet dog, Jasmine.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughters Sarah and Brooklyn Hunter; His mother Alison Hunter; siblings Brian (Rachel) Hunter and Tana Hunter; stepchildren Dilyn and Lily Faria; and his loyal dog Macie.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the employees at Premium Waters, who showed their support in so many ways. Their kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. They would also like to thank Mayo Hospice for their care and support in the final weeks of Chad's life.
