Arlene Holub, age 92, of Eau Claire, passed away on March 26, 2026 under the care of Interim Hospice.
She was born February 1, 1934 to Walter A. and Edith (Bleskacek) Meyer as the second eldest of eight children. From a young age, Arlene took on the role of caregiver, helping to raise her seven siblings with compassion and dedication—qualities that would define her life.
Arlene graduated from St. Patrick’s High School with the class of 1952. She married later in life, finding enduring love with Harold in her 40s. Together they shared 48 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, companionship, and mutual devotion. Though they had no children, their lives were rich with love, family, and community. Much of their married life was spent in Neillsville, Wisconsin, where they owned a bait shop and became a treasured presence in the community. Arlene found joy in the simple things – a rousing round of cards or fishing along the Red Cedar River with her husband, Harold.
A woman of deep faith, Arlene devoted many years to serving Sacred Heart Church, where she worked as an office manager. Her commitment to her church community reflected her unwavering spirituality and her desire to serve others.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2016; her parents, Walter and Edith Meyer; her siblings, James (Kim), Thomas, Gerald (Carol), David (Barb), and Donald; and sister-in-law, Mary.
She is survived by her siblings, Robert and Richard (Alice); sister-in-law’s, Laurel and Yvonne; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held for Arlene at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Father Michael Klos will be officiating. Arlene will be laid to rest with Harold at Dells Dam Cemetery in Neillsville, WI at a later date.
