Anthene M Dressen, age 79 of Eau Claire passed away Monday morning, September 1, at her residence in Eau Claire, under the care of Heartland Hospice.
Born October 13, 1945, in Buffalo, NY, the only child of Tillie and Rocco Dodo. They moved to the suburb of Tonawanda in 1954 where Teena graduated from Kenmore East High School in June 1963. An honor grad and business student, she began her 37 years in the workforce the day after graduation in the same high school at age 17.
Business school classes during the evenings and an opportunity to take the Federal Civil Service test 3 years later led to a stint at The Pentagon in D.C., at the White House ('67-'69) and the U.S. Postal Service in 1971. To her Washington, D.C. was her special city.
Teena married Paul Grisim in 1969 and eventually moved to Minneapolis. They had two children, Jennifer (Jason) Beckermann, Eau Claire, WI and Roger Grisim (Linda), Bolivar, MO who survived her. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Ethan Beckermann, Chloe Beckermann, Abraham Grisim and Rocco Grisim.
Teena married Robert (Bob) Dressen in 1983. She enjoyed her 20 years at The Pillsbury Co. R&D in Minneapolis, and with Bob, co-owned the Cannon Bee Honey & Supply Co. Bob was the beekeeper; Teena was the accountant and both were packers and marketers for over 23 years. She also committed to their life-long involvement in the Democratic Party including fund-raising, caucus' involvement, and volunteering for local and national elections in various capacities.
Teena enjoyed her winters at Monte Vista Village in Mesa, AZ since 1997 where she was in many activities including tennis, quilting, the Community Board Chairperson, and being an "unofficial" Historian with her close friends Sarah Lowry and Nancy Neufeld.
She never met a dog she couldn't love...especially Hildy and Lucy. Because of her volunteer work with Feed My People Food Bank and appreciation to St. John's Lutheran Church both in Eau Claire, memorials are requested to either organization.
A memorial visitation will take place from 3-4 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Hulke Family Funeral Home. A service will conclude the visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Christine Emerson will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at Fort Snelling Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
