Eleanor Rice Revne was born in Rice Lake, WI on August 30, 1922, to Chris and Ingeborg Rice.  She grew up in the Lake Hallie community and later lived in Eau Claire.  Eleanor graduated in 1940 from Eau Claire High School and later attended Bible school in Fergus Falls, MN.  On May 8, 1948 she married Harold Revne at Bethesda Lutheran Church on Fay St in Eau Claire, WI.  She worked at Book and Stationary in accounting, the lab at Luther Hospital, and performed administrative and reception work in the chiropractic office Harold and Eleanor opened.

They had four daughters, Jeanne, Ann, Susan (who died as an infant) and Sandi.  Eleanor loved her volunteer work at Bethesda Lutheran Church and Christian Women’s Club.  She and Harold were active in Chiropractic continuing education groups.  They enjoyed traveling around the country, often pulling a trailer, and many times to the Rocky Mountains.  Eleanor was a great hostess, a fabulous baker, and a skilled quilter.  She was always giving of her time and talents.  She valued friends and family, often thinking of others before herself.  She is a Christian and wants everyone to experience the peace, joy and hope she found in Jesus.

Eleanor is survived by three daughters, Jeanne (Phil) Hoilien, Ann Rupnow and Sandi (Brent) Wiebe, and many grandchildren, Noel and Heidi Hoilien, Brad and Kari Hoilien, Daniel and Melissa Thomas, Eli and Shannon Rupnow, Joe and Erin Rupnow, Josh and Katie Rupnow, Justin Wiebe, Daniel Wiebe and Karissa Wiebe.  She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Memorials may be given to Lutheran Brethren World Missions, PO Box 655, 1020 W. Alcott Ave, Fergus Falls, MN, 56537, or Bethesda Lutheran Church, 123 W. Hamilton Ave., Eau Claire, WI, 54701.

Funeral service will take place at 11 am on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Bethesda Lutheran Church 123 W. Hamilton Ave., Eau Claire with Pastor Brian Quade and Pastor Rodney Venberg officiating.  Visitation will take place Monday morning at Bethesda Lutheran Church in the fellowship hall from 9am until the time of service. Private family burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.

    Gary and I want to say we are so sorry for your loss. It is always comforting to know that Eleanor is in the loving arms of Jesus. She was a wonderful lady with a quiet and loving spirit. Eleanor always made me feel special. She was genuinely interested in my wellbeing. It was a pleasure knowing her from Christian Womens club, Bethesda Bible study and quilting group. Eleanor loved her family. She will always be remembered for her unshakable faith. What wonderful memories you all have to share.

    I only knew Eleanor through my sister, Vicki. What I learned from Vicki is that your mother was joyful, kind, and generous with her love of others. Thank you so much for sharing her with Vicki. She loved your mom very much. I am sorry for the grief that you are now experiencing as you face the hole her passing leaves in your lives I know that your lives are rich for having had her as long as you did.
