Willis Robert "Bill" Knight passed away on Thursday October 27, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire at the age of 81. He was a resident of Eau Claire, Wisconsin at the time of his death. 
Willis was born on December 19, 1929 in Cornell, Wisconsin to Hannah and Chester Knight and was part of a family that included 6 other siblings. As a lifelong resident of the area, Willis attended Eau Claire High School and later served in the US Air Force for 4 years, which included an assignment in southeast Asia and Japan. The majority of Mr. Knight's career was spent with Chicago based Leath Furniture in local and regional management roles based out of the Eau Claire store. 
Willis was married on October 4, 1952 to Carole Jean Novak of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The couple was happily married for 44 years until Carole's death in 1997. Willis and Carole have two children, Suzanne Rae Thompson of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Mark Robert Knight of Annapolis, Maryland.   Willis was social and fun loving, and enjoyed people and traveling. A vodka martini and a trip to the casino was all he needed for a perfect day! He played an active role in Plymouth United Church of Christ Church for many years.
Willis is survived by daughter Suzanne Thompson of Eau Claire Wisconsin, and her husband Tom, son Mark Knight of Annapolis Maryland, and his wife Kathy, granddaughters Deb Winters and Dawn Powers, great granddaughters Connee Winters and Maddy Powers, along with great-great grandson Cody Cesafsky. His brothers Charles Knight of Bethesda, Maryland, Roger and Beth Knight of Pleasant Hill, Tennessee, and Douglas and Karen Knight of Eau Claire, Wisconsin along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. 
Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his wife Carole (1997), brother Ronald, sister Laurel, and brother Chester.
Memorial services will take place at 6 pm on Monday October 31, 2011 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Pastor Chris Myers and Pastor David Huber will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Memorial visitation will take place at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 3 pm until the time of services. Friends may offer condolences online at www.fullerspeckienhulke.com.
