Harry J. "Jim" Webb, age 87 of Eau Claire passed away Friday October 28, 2011 at his home, with his wife, Jo, at his side.

Funeral services will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Fuller Speckien Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. Rev. Scott Daniels, from Lake Street United Methodist Church in Eau Claire, will officiate. 
Visitation will take place Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home from 3 pm until the time of services. 
Private family committal services will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls with military honors rendered by American Legion Post #53 at a later date. 
Jim was born in Chippewa Falls, WI on December 30, 1923 to Harry J. Webb Sr. and Cassie (Cathers) Webb. He married Joan E. Greenwald, the love of his life, on August 27, 1949 in Chippewa Falls. He was a lifetime resident of Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire area. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aviator during World War II from 1943 to 1947.   He was co-owner and partner with his father and brother of Webb's Bowladrome in Chippewa Falls until 1957 at which time he moved to Eau Claire and entered into the insurance business until 1982. He then was the Director of the Small Business Development Center at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire until his retirement in 1989. Jim was active in the community serving as a director of the Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce for 6 years and was a charter member of the Chambers Ambassadors. He was also on the board of directors of the Salvation Army, United Way and the State Association of Independent Insurance Agents, and served on the City of Eau Claire Police and Fire Commission for 10 years. Jim was a member of the American Legion for 67 years and was a member of the Lake Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joan, without whom Jim could never have achieved what he did. Two sons, Tom Webb of Eau Claire and Bob Webb of Janesville, WI, a daughter Lora Eggenberger of Gainesville, Texas, four grandchildren, Matt Webb of Janesville WI, Melissa Mair of Janesville WI, Joey (Kayla) Eggenberger of Denton TX, and Ryan Eggenberger of Gainesville TX and great grandson Jaden Mair of Janesville WI. Also a cousin, Betty Cathers of Eau Claire and several nieces and nephews throughout the United States. 
He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Cassie Webb, two brothers, Harold and Fred, sisters, Hazel Aton and Helen Parks.

The family would like to especially thank the management and staff of Oakwood Hills Retirement Home whom have been wonderful to them in the four years that they've been living there. Also a special thank you to Shirley Nayes and her staff of the Health Corps in Oakwood Hills whom were a magnificent help during this hard time.
He will be missed very much by his family and the many peoples lives he touched.
