Alyce W. Nimsger, 93 of Eau Claire Wisconsin, joined our Lord on Thursday, September 8, 2011.
Born on September 21, 1917 in Eau Claire, Alyce was the seventh child of John and Leila (White) Weinstock.
Alyce graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School and held several bookkeeping positions in Eau Claire with her final position as cost accountant with Shedd-Brown Manufacturing Company. In later years, she worked for the City Treasurer at City Hall during tax periods.
On September 7, 1940, Alyce married her soul mate Wayne "Bud" Nimsger who proceeded her in death in April 1997 after 56 ½ years together.   Always the outdoors person, Alyce loved to travel especially the back roads, hunting and fishing with Bud. She was always up for an adventure. In later years, she and Sandy traveled together to Hawaii and Alaska. Bowling was a pastime she continued well into her late 60's. Cooking, sewing, reading, Yatzee and trips to casinos were favorite interests as well. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. In 2001, Alyce moved to Apple Valley, California living there for three years until her health began to decline. She returned to Eau Claire living a short time at Oakwood Hills and then at Fall Creek Valley Care Center.
Alyce is survived by her only child Sandra (Richard) Paus, Apple Valley, California; granddaughter Susan (Rob) Brown, Fall Creek, Wisconsin; grandson Chad Paus, Denver, Colorado; great-grandson, Marques (Jessica) Brown, and great-great granddaughter McKayla Brown, El Paso, Texas, one sister Irene (Francis) Bradshaw, Downey, California, Roy Nimsger her favorite nephew, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alyce was preceded in death by husband Wayne as well as brothers and sisters Morris, Ralph, Frank, Lucille Erickson, Mae Meyer and Esther Doty.
Memorial service will be at Fuller-Speckien-Hulke Funeral Home, 3209 Rudolph Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 1PM with Pastor Sandee Kosmo officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon one hour prior to service. Please enter and exit the funeral home parking lot from the north off of South Street to avoid the construction on Rudolph Road. Inurnment will be at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following the service.
