Michael W. Stibor “Spider Mike”,age 54, of Chippewa Falls passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in O’Fallon, Illinois.

Mike was born to Robert F. and Patricia M. (Hauff) Stibor on November 23rd 1964 in Waukesha, WI. Growing up in Heartland, Mike always had a desire for adventure. He enjoyed boy scouts with his dad, hanging with his big brothers, Tony and Jerry, and his best friend and sister, Robin. As he grew up he liked the thrill of speed; boats, cars, and of course motorcycles. In 1988, he was blessed by the birth of his daughter, Shannon Nicole. On May 24th 2014 Mike married his loving wife, Tauna (Fritz), surrounded by loved ones.

He had a great passion for cooking and would love to share photos on Facebook of some of his creations, and recipes (bacon, Sue).

His ministry of making cross necklaces was a true calling and gift.  His crosses have been sent around the world and in the local community.  It filled his heart to be able to share those with others.

He participated in various serve ministry areas over the years at Jacobs Well; Care Team, Prayer Team, Greeter and Small Group Leader.  His Saturday morning men’s group meant the world to him.  These guys didn’t only grow in faith together they did life together, a bond that stretched a 9 year span.

Mike’s heart was for the Lord and his motorcycle family. His brothers and sisters in Faith Riders, Friends of Faith, BFC, CMA, and all those who have ridden with him currently and in the past brought him joy, when he was with them he was in his happy place and loved beyond measure.

He worked for HSHS for nearly 10 years where he was not only encouraged professionally but spiritually and surrounded by great co-workers and friends.

No matter how you knew Mike “Spider”, you will never forget his huge heart, amazing laugh, quick wit, and fantastic bear hugs. He loved BIG.

Mike is survived by his wife, Tauna; daughter, Shannon (Kyle); grandchildren, Luke and Evelynn; sister, Robin (Mike); brothers, Tony (Joan) and Jerry (Jane); step-daughter, Kiara (Israel); step-son, Erik; father and mother-in-law, Gary and Jane Fritz; brother-in-law, Kevin; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, endless friends and brothers and sisters of faith. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

    Robin and Tony,
Losing a sibling hits way too close to our hearts. When my big brother Dave passed, I remember it like a punch to the gut, the hardest one I could imagine.
You have lots of sweet memories of growing up with the usual sibling squabbles and sticking together in hard times. You saw Mike in his most vulnerable moments and his most shining ones, and know him for the great and impactful person that he was.
I hope that you can find comfort in the legacy he created, within the family and with everyone he encountered in his life.
I know Dave did that for me, too. I wish you peace and the very best memories of Mike.

    Lisa

A friend, Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) work colleague, and fellow member at church. Tauna, hard to believe your and Mike’s wedding was May 24th, just five years ago. It was almost 10 years ago I first met Mike in the lower level of Sacred Heart Hospital when I was visiting the IT folks for help on my laptop. Mike was newly hired and was wearing short sleeves. I awkwardly sounded out the Hebrew letters tattooed on his arm, “Mick-el...” but I was rusty and couldn’t recognize the word, and he replied helpfully, “Michael, but you can call me Mike,” and grinned. I will miss him and his passion for following and being like Jesus. Condolences from my family, Nanci, Molly, Maddy, and Ella. We will treasure of the cross necklaces he made for us. May the Lord‘s tender mercies bring you, Tauna, and your family comfort and peace.

  7. Sue Walker June 21, 2019

Mike, Mike, Mike, guess what day it is? The day I miss you from this day forward. I loved the way we bantered (especially over bacon, lol.) I take comfort in knowing you are with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, even if you're looking down at me saying, "Neener, neener, neener, I got here first.

I will always cherish the times we spent in worship together even though Duane Walker was between us as our personal "snot rag."

You had a BIG heart that matched your big smile, which were both dwarfed by your HUGE hugs. What I'd give for another ...

Until we meet again, I will always think of you and toast ypu with my bacon crisp. Love you!
    Your banter buddy,
    Bacon Sue Walker

I am so very sorry for the loss of Mike. My heart goes out to the whole family. Mike may have been a voice on the phone or Skype but you learned about his passion for technology and life. Mike gave you feeling that its going to be ok just take a deep breath and tell me what's happening. You could feel a hug through the phone. I truly feel for your family. Words can't bring him back and it might not make going for any easier but know in his heart you were the world to him. As the days weeks move on there is going to be a lot of big and little decisions to make. Know that he will be there to help you make the right ones. After everyone has gone on with their life, remember you have the good times, the bad times and the well maybe the ugly times too that will keep you moving through life without Mike. I won't say it will get better but it will get a bit easier to breath. Allow yourself to feel bad on certain days and let a smile brighten your face when you remember something you may have done together or a smell or even a nice bike goes by. There will be times when you just feel those hugs and no one would believe you. I can say I do believe. May your journey going forward a safe one. Some walk through the Pearly Gates and some will Ride. I know which it will be. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the whole family.

I never had the privilege of meeting Mike personally, but I have seen him in action many times at Jacob's Well. Always thoughtful and connected with Tauna, as well as delivering a genuine smile to those who passed him by. I feel honored to have seen a person like Mike in action, and all the good deeds he has done are still alive and well. My heart and prayers go out to all who loved him.

Love you brother. You had a smile and hug for all. A confidant, counselor, accountability partner, and true brother in Christ. We lifted each other up when needed, yet talked business and ministry growth regularly. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
