Barbara (Barb) A. Bennett, 81, met her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 23.

The former Barbara Russell was born on December 17, 1936 in Eau Claire, to Vern and Dorothy (Capstick) Russell.  She attended Eau Claire schools and graduated from Eau Claire Senior High in 1955. On October 7, 1959, she married Lawrence (Larry) Bennett in Eau Claire.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, collecting sets of dishes, horses, and most of all, quilting and collecting fabric.  She did not watch television very often except on the first Saturday in May when it was time for the Kentucky Derby!  She taught piano for many years and and also worked for Kleven Real Estate.  Barb was a church organist for 40 years.

She is survived by her husband, Larry, one daughter, Karen (Paul) Haugland, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Mark, parents Vern and Dorothy Russell, and brother Jim Russell.

Visitation will take place at Hulke Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 3-7 pm.  Visitation will continue at the church on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 10 am until the time of service.  Funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 123 W Hamilton Ave, Eau Claire, WI 54701, with Pastor Rod Larson officiating. Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire.

    Larry, so sorry to hear of Barbs passing. She was a lovely person. I also knew she loved to bake. Living next to you for many years on Woodland Ave. Karen was a baby that I occasionally watched.

    I am so incredibly sorry to hear about Barb's passing. I have very fond memories of celebrating our birthday's together growing up, going to Pizza Hut on Sunday's after church, and her presence while you helped me make candles at your house.
