Wayne Alan Burgess, age 76, formerly of Eau Claire, passed away Tuesday morning, November 20, 2018 at Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood, WI.

Wayne was born to Russell E. and Nora E. (Jaquish) Burgess on March 19, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  He attended and graduated from Apopha Memorial High School while his family was living in Florida.  As a young man, Wayne was energetic and made friends easily. He worked at various jobs out of high school and then, became a self-employed contractor, building homes and doing repair work.  He was seriously injured in an industrial accident while working on the Coca Cola roof in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  Thereafter, he lived with his parents for many years.  He attended church regularly and loved Pentecostal Assembly.  Now, he is at home with Jesus.

He is survived by his children, Timothy Wayne of Gainesville, Florida and Tanis Leanne (Walter) Barker of Orlando, Florida, three grandchildren, Megan, Jeremy, and Isabella, sisters, Barbara Dodge of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Ramona (Craig) Sulentic, Lakeville, Minnesota, brothers, Philip (Josette) of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Bruce (Mary) of Belle Vista, Arkansas,  and Bradley (Jonell) of Louisville, Kentucky, and sister in law, Tanya Burgess of Georgetown, Indiana. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Russell and Nora, brother Keith, and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law.

Funeral service will take place at 4 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Hulke Family Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Bennett officiating.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Saturday from 3 pm until the time of service.  Burial will take place in the Brunswick Cemetery in the Brunswick Township.

    Barbara so sorry to hear of Wayne passing. He was a good kind soul. He had a ???? of gold. The early days loved the knowledge that he had. He surprised us often with his widson. Know I'll never forget my time caring for him. Sure he will be greatly missed
