George Otto Miller, 74, of Eau Claire died Oct. 7, 2018, in Louisville, KY, while attending a church conference. He was born in Eau Claire on August 12, 1944, to Austin and Elva (Steinhauer) Miller. He was a 1962 graduate of Memorial High School. He attended Milwaukee School of Engineering, then worked at Fabri-Tek, ChipTronics and doing construction, afterwards he owned/operating Cabinet ReNu.

He married Donna Oelke on August 22, 1964. George was an active member of Pentecostal Assembly, serving as Youth Leader, Sunday School teacher, usher and more recently, headed the PrimeTimers and Heritage Builders. George enjoyed passing out Bibles with the Gideon’s. He traveled on many mission trips: Mexico, Nepal, Panama and Costa Rica. He enjoyed fishing, including trips to Alaska with his brother John and the annual Canadian fishing adventure with sons and grandsons.

He was proud to have attended the ICE BOWL game in 1967!

He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Donna; his three children: Mick (Debbie) of Eagle, WI; Greg (Kristell) of Hudson, WI and Marita (Stephen) Peters of Eau Claire. He was Papo to 13 grandchildren: Derek (Sarah) Miller of Waukesha, Mandi (Jon) Osborn of Mukwanago, Collin of Florida, Nicole (Fiancé Ben Bowen) of Mukwanago; Alyssa (Kyle) Schaffer of Hudson, Austin (Helen) of River Falls, Brooke (fiancé Matt Moran) of Madison, Ava (Scotty) Hoffman of Hudson, Benjamin of Hudson; Natalie, Emily, Zachary and Brady Peters of Eau Claire; 14 great grandchildren; his brother John (Cindy) Miller and daughter Kristi (Shawn) Mayhew of California; brother-in-law Robert (Carole) Oelke of Wausau and Mary (Patrick) Geissler of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James.

Funeral service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Pentecostal Assembly Church, 9 9th Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703 with Pastor Paul Bennett officiating.  Visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 4-7 pm and again on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service.  Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire immediately following the funeral service.

    Donna, I just happened to be looking at the Leader-Telegram online this evening and saw the news of your husband's death. What a shock! I am so, so sorry to read this news. I understand from the obituary that he knew (knows!) the Lord. How blessed we are to have the assurance that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! My love and condolences to you and your kids and grandkids.

    We are so sorry to hear of George's passing. George was always someone we enjoyed seeing when we got to visit in Eau Claire.
